  1. EtherExpress(TM) PRO/100B updated drivers for Windows* NT

  4. This document contains information pertaining to the drivers 
  5. and support files for Microsoft Windows NT 3.5x using Intel EtherExpress(TM) PRO/100B adapters.  
  6.  
  7. CLEAN INSTALL
  8. -------------
  9. If you have previously installed an Intel EtherExpress PRO/100B adapter
  10. and you do not want to re-install NT, the following instructions must be followed to verify the successful update of all drivers and support software.
  11.  
  12. 1. Remove the EtherExpress PRO/100B adapter via Control Panel/Network
  13.  
  14. 2. Remove the following files from the associated directories:
  15.    NOTE: <Drive>    = the drive NT 3.5x is installed
  16.      %SystemRoot%    = the installed directory of NT 3.5x
  17.  
  18.  
  19.     <Drive>:\%SystemRoot%\System32
  20.  
  21.         File Name    
  22.         -----------    
  23.         CTL3D32.DLL    
  24.         EP100DG.DLL
  25.         MFC30.DLL    
  26.         MSVCRT20.DLL    
  27.         PROKDD.DLL    
  28.         EPRO100.DLL    
  29.         PROPCI.DLL    
  30.         PROSET.EXE    
  31.         E100SET.HLP    
  32.         oemnad~.inf    
  33.            where ~ is a number associated with the oemsetup.inf file
  34.            shipped on the Intel Drivers Disk.  You will have to view
  35.            the oemnad?.inf files in order to determine which file to 
  36.            delete.

  47. 3. Edit the registry and remove the following Keys and their associated sub-keys:
  48.   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SYSTEM >> CurrentControlSet >> Services> E100B
  49.   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SYSTEM >> CurrentControlSet >> Services> PROSet
  50.   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SYSTEM >> CurrentControlSet >> Services >> Nwlnkipx >> NetConfig> E100B1
  51.   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE> Intel
  52.   HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> Setup >> InfOptions> oemnad~.inf
  53.     where ~ is a number associated with the oemsetup.inf file
  54.     shipped on the Intel Drivers Disk.  This will be the same
  55.     as the oemnad~.inf file removed in step 2 above.

  57. 4. Restart the system.

  59. 5. Install the new adapter and driver.
